Pup Profile: Leia

Princess Leia is a Corgi/German Shepherd mix. As the sweetest pup on the block, she loves a good snuggle session, making new friends, and exploring the state of Oregon with her Pup Parents.

Leia, how did you find your Pup Parents?

I'm a native of Mexico, where I had been orphaned. When my parents decided to adopt a four-legged family member, they began to keep a close eye on their favorite no-kill shelter in Oregon. The shelter brings in the neediest of pups from Mexico and other places, which appealed to my parents who wanted to give a loving home to an extra special perrito. I'm so glad they did. When I met them, I was shy, timid, barely wanting to stand, and shaken from my journey up North. They knew that time and good old TLC would heal me, and it did! Now, I'm my old, sweet self. I've been their niña querida for almost two years, and have traveled nearly the whole state of Oregon with them, making two- and four-legged friends along the way.

What is your favorite activity?

I'm an extrovert, so I don't like to be alone. It's way more fun to join my parents on an adventure across Oregon, from the beach to the mountains.

If sunbathing was a sport, I would be a gold medalist! If there's a sliver of sunlight to be found, I'll be in it. What else can I tell you? Treats are mi favorito! I won't play with anything if it doesn't have a squeaker. You can usually find me napping. And, my BFF is my kitty-sister Lola.

Honestly, I sometimes wonder if I'm meeting my full potential. I'm clearly an explorer, friend-maker, and possibly a diplomat. Being part Corgi might even mean I have royal blood. No matter what, I'm definitely not just a dog.
